Potting the red, from a snookered position.  Place a red ball over the yellow pocket, the black ball on its spot with the cue ball halfway between the cushion and the black. Playing with power and a small amount of running side, strike the side cushion approximately twelve inches above the middle pocket, facilitating this five cushion escape. As playing conditions often vary some experimentation with the amount of side and power will be necessary.
